The corrupt practices of reusing disposables are going on for ages but never reported by media before as now (see below). A lot of damage is done and being done if these practices are not stopped. A robust, safe & confidential annual appraisal of all doctors is one of the best ways forwards to channelise knowledge of such corrupt practices to the right authorities via appraisers which will lead to legal punitive action against corrupt individuals/organizations saving lives of our patients. Remember, we all are going to be patients one day & so our family members & children.
If we fail, this will continue. Private hospitals reuse disposables, make you pay for them. Disposables like catheters, guide wires and balloons used in every angioplasty are reused and billed repeatedly in many private hospitals.
