According to Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN) 2020 estimates, breast cancer is the most common cancer found among females and accounts for 13.5% of the overall cancer cases. 1 Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients show a good prognosis with a single aromatase inhibitor but gradually develop drug resistance. Thus, it is necessary to treat breast cancer patients with an optimal drug that delays the disease progression. Targeting cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) helps delay endocrine resistance among patients, and hence, ribociclib, a CDK 4/6 inhibitor, has a major role in breast cancer treatment. 2   References: GLOBOCAN 2020 estimates in India.
