Persistent cold with ear ache is non-suppurative Otitis media. This child requires a high dose of Amoxyclav 60-80 mg /kg for 7-8 days and observe the child. Septilin Can also be added for 3-6 months and if after that also the child doesn't show improvement the child can be taken up for adenoidectomy if present.

The environment in which the child lives is also important. Correct the diet avoid chocolates and other allergy producing stuff from diet, regular steam inhalation will also help.
