Though SARS-CoV-2 has primary respiratory manifestations in symptomatic patients, it has severe manifestations and a higher mortality rate in asymptomatic patients with cardiovascular diseases. In some patients, COVID-19 has primary and secondary cardiac involvement. It involves arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, myocarditis & myocardial injury, or biomarker elevation and heart failure. Therefore, accurate assessment and management are crucial to overcoming the associated complications in such patients.
Also, challenges primarily related to the use of ACE-I and ARBs need to be addressed.
