Synopsis Plantar fasciitis one of the major causes of heel pain is a common condition in middle-aged and elderly people which reduces the quality of life. Till date, there has been a wide range of treatment modalities for plantar fasciitis. Out of various modalities, corticosteroid (CS) injections and Shock-wave (SW) therapy have proven to be effective in achieving various beneficial effects for this disorder. While there are certain limitations associated with its CS of SW over placebo treatment have been documented in various studies.
Only a few studies have focused on comparing the use of CS and SW in the treatment of this condition.
