I am sure many doctors have been called as expert witnesses to places far off from their cities to make a statement about x, y or z case. Many times, these observations don't actually need a physical presence of the doctor to do so. I was wondering whether or not it is feasible and sensible to set up digital court in every city. A judge presides over the proceedings in the courtroom where the case is taking place. The court is connected through teleconferencing to a special expert witness room in the court of city/cities where the required doctor or team of doctors is.
These rooms will have a judge present with the doctor(s) during the proceeding. The doctors just make statements in this manner. Any written material can be copied and sent to them beforehand. And interviews can be done through the teleconferencing itself. To me, it seems like an awful lot of time can be saved for doctors…
