The hazard of the medical profession is a risk of catching infection among doctors while performing their professional duties. Now a doctor has got HepB infection with needle prick. In past years, a pathologist got HIV Infection while handling infected material that is transmitted to his wife pathologist also.
The patients in window period of communicable diseases have more chances to infect doctors. Is it possible to assess biomarkers of patients before handling him and is it practicable? Or should doctors be insured against this occupational hazards?What is your opinion?
