The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has proposed to bring 8 new categories of medical devices, such as X-ray machines, implants, CT and MRI scan equipment, and dialysis equipment, under the ambit of the ‘Drugs and Cosmetics Act’, thus effectively bringing medical devices under price regulation.
