"Big move by AICTE: 200 engineering colleges to be shut down in 2018-19"! As per this news, AICTE has decided to shut down about 200 engineering colleges in India for the coming session. Why do you think they have taken this decision? India produces one of the largest number of engineers in the world. But only a few have that competence for gaining a good job in MNCs. Most engineers turn down their career because of lack of sufficient skills.
Also competition is too much. So correcting above statement, we can say, India produces a large number of substandard engineers. This is great loss for the country as well as for the students who aspire to become engineer. One of the reasons for this is the practice of giving clean chit to many private colleges.
