Squint surgery is one of the commonest operations performed by quint surgeons these days and is a surgical modality of paediatric surgeons. As we know squint is a disorder where in eyes deviate from the normal position of parallelism. The disorder has to be diagnosed and treated early so that we are able to achieve both proper vision and cosmetic correction. A neglected case of squint is apt to render a squinting eye amblyopic so the surgical correction in these cases will only be cosmetic.
One of the main things in assessment of squint is to assess vision refraction, fundi cases of retinoblastoma and Coats disease which can be present as squint.
