An 80 yr old mild diabetic fasting sugar under 100 mg/dl on Metformin+Sitagliptin 20/500 for the last 4 yrs, hypertensive on Losartan 50 mg, operated for varicose veins 5 yrs back, lean built has been noting nodular growths beneath her skin prominent being on @ right forearm measuring about 15× 4cm tapering at both ends. I have not seen this kind of cases in my practice of 40 yrs. A surgeon gave her Benzyl Nicotinate+Heparin ointment to apply withot any benefits. Another one treated with tab. Multivitamin 500 BD.
But both admitted having at loss to define the case. No fever, no loss of appetite, no loss of weight, no discolouration, redness or pain at the site. The same lesions are seen at the left forearm, on the skull but not large as this. What could be the reason? How to go about the treatment?
