The cleft anomaly affects the lip of the nose and the palate of every individual in various proportions. Cleft lip and palate treatments most of the times leave scars or with abnormal appearance even after surgery, if done properly without using fine materials or techniques. The lip and the perioral region is covered by delicate skin which can show marks of prior surgery. The degree of the scar varies in its intensity or depth or width.
Case: A young girl who was a case of cleft lip anomaly had reported to us with a complaint of an unesthetic lip and deformed nose . She had undergone cleft lip repair elsewhere where the cleft deformity was completely treated however it left a scar on the edge of the lip which was very obvious and unpleasant to look at.
