These hospitals are boon to the public of that region in which they are located. Bringing such good hospitals not only involves the buildings and infrastructures in the form of machines and instruments, but also better planning to utilise and manpower to serve better. Quoting Our First Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru that “Institutions are not made by bricks and mortar but by men of integrity to serve and make the buildings as institution”.
But an important question is lurking in my mind as a Senior Physician with more than forty years standing in the field of medicine and an alumni of Tirunelveli Medical College both as UG and First PG student in General Medicine, regarding the utility and running of the hospitals of this stature.
