A hospital in Bengaluru has successfully performed India's first robotic breast reconstruction using natural tissue on a 38-year-old woman diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer . A general surgeon identified the breast cancer in the patient from a biopsy test. Further, oncologists at the Bengaluru hospital performed a comprehensive evaluation and suggested chemotherapy initially to manage the cancer in the patient. After completion of chemotherapy, they recommended a nipple-sparing mastectomy and LD flap reconstruction for the patient.

Interestingly, the doctors conducted a left robot-assisted nipple-sparing mastectomy followed by robot-assisted LD flap reconstruction.
