A 19-year-old woman remains critically ill at Sassoon Hospital in Pune after her family alleged that surgical gloves and paper napkins were left inside her abdomen following a Caesarean section at the Beed district hospital in Maharashtra. The woman was admitted to the district hospital on August 1 for delivery and underwent a C-section. She was discharged four days later, but soon developed severe abdominal pain after returning home. Her condition subsequently deteriorated, prompting her family to seek treatment at a private hospital.

Doctors at the private facility reportedly identified an unidentified object inside her abdomen and advised further care.
