The first month of life of a newborn is a foundational period for good health and development. But these days are also crucial for their survival as there is high-risk death per day than any other period during childhood. According to a study, around 2.6 million babies die in the first month, especially in the first week of life. Prematurity, complications during birth and severe infections are one of the major causes of newborn deaths. Although the rate of survival of the newborn has been increased due to improved healthcare, awareness about the importance of newborn care for survival and development is still lacking in many parts of the world.
