A study contradicting previous findings which suggested that antidepressants reduce the effectiveness of Tamoxifen has been recently published. This new study suggests there is no adverse effect of antidepressants on the effectiveness of Tamoxifen. Tamoxifen is the common drug targeted towards breast cancer. Tamoxifen is prescribed to reduce the risk of breast cancer in men and women. The drug is also prescribed in the patients which have undergone mastectomy, to reduce the risk of recurrence of breast cancer.

It is also well known that, patients who have been diagnosed or operated for cancer also get depressed due to various psychological and physical stresses.
