Ventral hernia repair, particularly in patients with severe comorbidities, can be challenging. Isolation of the posterior component by transversus abdominis release (TAR) procedure allows successful fascial progression from the wound and reduces the risk of perioperative morbidity and wound-related complications, making it a powerful technique for complex abdominal wall reconstructions.
