A message on our mobiles read " keep your records up to date. A team from the PNDT cell will be visiting your place. " It gave us palpitations because it was in the news from a few places that scan centres had  been closed, ultrasound machines seized and doctors were penalised for not maintaining proper records. The heart rate was rising with every tick of the clock. We heard colleagues making a hue and cry that the clerical job should not be considered as an offence. Some relaxation was needed.
