Millions fall ill daily in India because of poor hygienic practices followed by eateries and sellers of meat products. There is an urgent need to make it mandatory for all eating places and shops selling foodstuffs to display the grading for their establishments prominently, maybe on their main signboards also. Though the grading system exists on paper, it is not implemented.
This will surely improve the hygiene and sanitation, resulting in safe food and consequently, less people falling ill. This may be extended to Street vendors also, after educating them on basics of hygiene. The task of grading can be done by Non Govt organisations.
