I would like to refer to an article titled " How Our Exams Are Degrading Our Medical Education " that was published on this platform a few days back. I am keen to share my views on this issue. Let us first recognise the problems in assessment (weaknesses) :- The MCI recommends an imbalanced and weak system of assessment of knowledge, skills and communication skills exist. A poor share of internal assessment. There is none for attitude towards patients.

The scale of assessment (marks allotted) for various subjects has no correlation with the hours recommended to teach that syllabus. Almost in all the subjects the scale of assessment is too small for a proper assessment to happen.
