The medical profession is changing with the advancing time and technologies. Conventional practices are no longer ideal, and patients are more aware and have different expectations. To keep up with the advancing times and improvise the level of satisfaction for medical professionals, the Royal College of Physicians has advocated a report entitled “Advancing medical professionalism” in consultation with healthcare practitioners, patients, and stakeholders to meet the demands of the world from the current medical professionals.

The report entails seven key roles (figure 1) 1 that are not yet a part of core medical practice but would fine-tune the overall professionalism and the doctor’s identity when implemented.
