Rabies is one of the most frequent causes of deaths worldwide. The 28th September 2020 marks the 14th year of observing World Rabies Day. On this day, let us join hands to spread awareness about rabies, collaborate, and vaccinate. Every year 28th September is observed as World Rabies Day. The day also marks the death anniversary of Louis Pasteur, who developed the first rabies vaccine.
The observance aims to raise awareness about rabies and enhance the efforts for its prevention and control worldwide. Despite being completely preventable, rabies continues to cause several deaths. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, globally, one person every nine minutes dies from rabies, of which four out of ten deaths are reported in children.
