There is great ambiguity in the safety and tolerance of the different COVID-19 vaccines administered across the world. It is extremely challenging to predict the immunologic response of every individual to the COVID-19 vaccine. Nevertheless, researchers worldwide are constantly trying to document the adverse effects of each COVID-19 vaccine. Recently, there have been reports of an endocrinologic adverse effect of the COVID-19 vaccines – subacute thyroiditis.

These case reports warn endocrinologists against a high risk of thyrotoxicosis following COVID‐19 vaccination, resulting from a potentially self‐limiting subacute thyroiditis. Graves' disease too, has been found to develop shortly after COVID‐19 vaccination.
