The government has ordered, that BAMS and BHMS medical students should be given opportunity for observation in post-mortem, gynaecology and general surgery departments of government hospitals. There has been a controversy regarding training Ayurveda and homoeopathic medicos in allopathy in the last months. Due to this order from the government, it has again gained momentum. Indian Medical Association (IMA) has opposed the order while Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI) has claimed that their syllabus itself, includes training in certain areas of allopathy.

The chief secretary of health stated that, “ It is not even training as it is being propagated. The order insists on providing an opportunity to closely observe the procedures ”.
