Intraperitoneal Onlay mesh repair (IPOM) plus technique involves the combination of open and laparoscopic surgery for managing incarcerated, obstructed hernias, and umbilical hernia. The IPOM procedure is based on the approach of placing mesh at underlay position through the laparoscopic intraperitoneal surgery. IPOM plus technique offers several advantages such as shorter hospital stays, lower infection, rapid recovery, and less recurrence rate. Due to several advantages, this technique is gaining popularity among laparoscopic surgeons, and hence, achieving excellence in IPOM plus is crucial.
