Transthyretin amyloidosis cardiomyopathy ( ATTR-CM ) is a progressive, fatal disease marked by rising cardiac biomarkers NT-proBNP and troponin I, which predict worsening outcomes. The HELIOS-B phase 3 trial evaluated Vutrisiran , an RNA interference therapy targeting transthyretin production, in 655 ATTR-CM patients. Vutrisiran treatment significantly stabilized or reduced these biomarkers over 30 months compared to placebo, correlating with reduced cardiovascular events and mortality , highlighting the potential for early intervention to improve prognosis.
