Given the worldwide epidemic and the speedy evolution of COVID-19, several pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies are trying to find efficient solutions to treat and prevent the disease. Several studies are being conducted to develop vaccines against the virus. In a similar attempt, one of the biotechnology companies has successfully discovered a new avenue of therapy against the virus. A US-based biotechnology company has recently identified two monoclonal antibodies that can bind to the COVID-19 and neutralize its activity.

These antibodies were obtained from an existing library of 20 fully-human antibodies. The company claims that the antibodies act on the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein present in the region used by the virus to enter cells via cellular receptor ACE2.
