The members of the Federal National Council, Abu Dhabi have recently approved a draft federal law on medically assisted reproduction that puts a ban on surrogacy, egg and sperm donation. This draft legislation aims to regulate and closely monitor all medical operational businesses related to assisted reproductive technologies and protect the community from illegal practices. Furthermore, the draft law will also help to promote treatment of infertility by ensuring the use of the latest scientific techniques, thereby, providing better convenience and accessibility to patients.
