The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention ( MoHAP ) has recently drafted a proposal for the screening of genetic diseases in the newborns within the first 72 hours of birth . The program aims at early detection and management of diseases in the newborns by providing timely treatment and counselling plan.

A total of 40 genetic diseases in the newborns will be screened by following the best international practices.
