The case presented in this report details a 77-year old female with severe muscle illness and generalized muscle aches. This led to the development of Rhabdomyolysis- a disorder which leads to the breakdown of muscle tissues due to the release of damaging protein in the blood due to uncommon drug interaction. Case: A 77-year old woman presented with severe muscle illness and generalized muscle aches with dark discolouration of urine. She was diagnosed with urinary tract infection 5 days before her presentation. Ciprofloxacin was started and her muscle symptoms begun after 2 doses.
Medical History: 11 years earlier she had a coronary artery bypass operation. She was suffering from hypertension and hypothyroidism which were effectively controlled.
