The Union Health Ministry has reviewed the country's preparedness for dengue and malaria ahead of the monsoon season, directing states and Union Territories to strengthen measures for the prevention and control of mosquito-borne diseases. During the review, the ministry stressed the importance of enhanced disease surveillance, timely reporting of cases, and rapid response mechanisms to detect and contain outbreaks at an early stage. Healthcare facilities were advised to ensure adequate availability of medicines, diagnostic kits, blood components, hospital beds, and trained personnel to manage any increase in cases during the monsoon period.
