1. I hear some people say now-a-days the skin site should not be wiped with spirit swab before giving injections esp. TT. True? If yes,why?
2. I found a case of mumps parotitis in which the patient,a 7-yr old girl, had repeated episodes of vomiting after taking oral antibiotics.My senior doctor advised me to give ceftriaxone injections instead.My question asks is it so important to give antibiotic prophylaxis in mumps or can we omit the vomit? We know patient compliance will be low if a girl child is to take injections. Please help
