The US FDA has approved delgocitinib cream for the topical treatment of moderate-to-severe chronic hand eczema (CHE) in adults who have shown inadequate response to topical corticosteroids or for whom such treatments are not suitable. Delgocitinib is a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor that suppresses multiple inflammatory pathways implicated in the development and recurrence of CHE. The cream has also been approved for use in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates.
Clinical evidence The safety and efficacy of delgocitinib were demonstrated in two randomized clinical trials involving 960 adults with CHE.
