The USFDA has approved dostarlimab using an Accelerated Approval pathway for treating patients with recurrent or advanced endometrial cancer having a specific genetic feature known as deficient mismatch repair (dMMR). Dostarlimab is indicated for patients who fail to respond to prior treatment with platinum-containing chemotherapy. It blocks the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway enabling the immune system to fight against the cancer cells . Endometrial cancer (EC) affects 2.8 per 100,000 patients in India, with a 5-year overall survival rate of 92%.
