The USFDA has approved midodrine hydrochloride tablets for the treatment of patients with orthostatic hypotension. This drug will be available in strengths of 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg. Orthostatic hypotension is also called postural hypotension. It is a condition of low blood pressure associated with a person during standing up or lying down. The primary symptoms of this condition include dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting.
It may be mild (episodes last for less than a few minutes) or severe (long-lasting episodes), thus indicating more severe problems.
