The USFDA has announced the establishment of a new Digital Health Advisory Committee, consisting of technical and scientific experts, to assist the agency in exploring the evolving digital health technologies (DHTs) and related issues. The Committee will analyze DHTs, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality, wearables, remote patient monitoring, and digital therapies, and help the agency understand their benefits, clinical outcomes, and risks. In addition, the Committee will guide the FDA on decentralized clinical trials, patient-generated health data, and cybersecurity issues.
