Dear Fellow Peers, I want the opinion of all doctors regarding two problems faced by us in our practice. Many people ask to give false fitness certificates when they take leave. They ask inflated medical bills for reimbursements. In practice, I make it clear to the patient that, "unless you are admitted to the hospital for the treatment and if I feel that patient requires rest then only I give fitness certificate.
Since I pay income tax, I cannot give inflated medicine bills which are not prescribed." We as doctors should remove the notion in population which thinks that any leave for whatever reason can be justified with one doctor's certificate. They should not take it granted. Kindly share your opinions on these two issues.
