It causes misalignment of teeth of upper and lower dental arches. Malocclusion affects facial appearance and harmony, and dental function. Additionally, increased risk of narrowed upper arch, crossbite, crowding of teeth, and skeletal malocclusion is caused by vitamin D deficiency. However, the role of vitamin D deficiency in malocclusion is not yet completely understood.
