Respected all A young male of 30 year, alcoholic and smoker presented with URI and on random sugar check has 535 mg/dl sugar and urine ketone absent, BP normal, No family history of diabetes and even patient first time came to know that he has so high sugar. The history shows that he used to void urine 3 times in the night and drink more water. Rest general examination essentially normal. Questions:  Especially for GP how to approach this patient means what to start and when to start especially in rural area.

Is there any protocol like hypertensive urgencies or emergency for the diabetic crisis(%) sugar pt-so we follow that chart and start initial treatment. Is Statin and Aspirin  is mandatory for all diabetics? Any survival advantage or reduce the risk of IHD?
