A friend's daughter was born 1 and half months preterm.Was in the NICU for 14 days...during which she developed infection...started on linezolid.. She was noted to have developmental delay, especially social development (does not recognise mother etc) and spasms. On further workup, she was diagnosed to have myoclonic epilepsy (west syndrome). EEG showed hypsarrhythmia my friend says that the paediatrician started her on ACTH for 6 weeks, weekly twice and valproate daily, after which there was improvement of symptoms and EEG findings also improved.

ACTH dose was tapered to once a week, the doctor then suggested discontinuing ACTH and continuing only valproate during which the baby's condition worsened.
