Recently, the Delhi High Court stated that doctors need to deal with the consequences of issuing fake, misleading, or improper medical certificates, including removing the doctor from the Medical Council of India’s register. This remark was made in the context of a case wherein doctors issued a fake certificate without checking the patient. Is removing doctors from the register an apt penalty for issuing a fake certificate?
