We often complain about patients, particularly in rural areas not following the given instructions. But what when a doctor don’t follow practice guidelines. I am specifically directing towards the increasing antibiotic resistance issues. Many doctors in rural areas often prescribe antibiotics for common infections without recognizing the type. Is it really due to diagnostic costs? As we all know now that antibiotics are not at all useful in viral infections. In fact, antibiotics are causing more harm than benefits in viral infections.
Recently, I have read the news that some other states are campaigning about antibiotic resistance problems. Being a knowledgeable person why we don’t understand the significance? Why some doctors don’t recognize the seriousness of such issues? What do you suggest for such doctors? Please share your views on these lines.
