Is it mandatory that sterilization (tubectomy) procedures should be done only in Govt. authorized/approved hospitals? My understanding has been that if a complication (failure or death ) occurs, the patient will get compensation from the Govt. only if the procedure is done in a Govt.

approved center. Otherwise, the hospital has to bear the compensation cost. I seek clarifications on this.
