In an under trial case at high court, the judge denied to accept observership as training and disqualified the person for laparoscopic surgery. A MS surgeon did observership for two months in laparoscopy at premier govt institute, thereafter performed thousands of laparoscopic surgery in last 10 years. Unfortunately a case died during laproscopy. Now case is under trial and for bail. Highcourt judge denied bail.The reason he gave was because you did only observership and no training hence not authorized for laproscopic surgery. Now please give opinion- 1.what are MCI guidelines if any to perform laproscopic surgery.
