A booked case in proper follow up of antenatal case USG has done 20 days prior to EDD. Baby weight in USG was 2.6 kg, per abdomen height more but miss diagnosed as pre-eclampsia induced abdominal wall edema and induced for vaginal delivery. At the time of admission, BP was 130/100, no spontaneous labour pain but the baby was not proceeding properly, so pulled out very forcefully. Leads to complete brachial plexus injury, actual birth weight 3.8 kg.

So who will be responsible mishaps with baby and family, the Radiologist who wrongly calculated baby weight (2.5kg, 10 days prior to delivery) OR Gynaecologist who didn't ask for repeat USG? Didn't clinically assess more baby weight, and not able to judge the mode of delivery and produce complete brachial plexus injury during forceful forceps delivery?
