A new World Health Organization (WHO) report, developed with the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), highlights the growing global impact of cancer and the inequalities that continue to affect access to care. According to the report, nearly 92% of people worldwide are expected to experience the impact of cancer at least once in their lifetime, either through their own diagnosis or through a family member or someone close to them. WHO also noted that one in five people will develop cancer during their lifetime.

The report highlighted that cancer continues to place a major global burden, with over 20.6 million new cancer cases and nearly 10 million deaths reported annually, making it one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. Despite major progress in prevention, screening, diagnostics, and treatment, access to cancer care remains unequal across regions. WHOโ€ฆ
