The World Health Organization (WHO) has released updated recommendations endorsing RSV vaccination for adults aged 60 years and older, as well as pregnant women between 32–36 weeks of gestation. This update is supported by robust real-world data demonstrating a 70–80% reduction in RSV-related hospitalizations among these populations. The revised guidance highlights the importance of targeted immunization to protect older adults and newborns—two groups at highest risk for severe RSV-associated complications.
