Doctors usually have a reputation for being difficult patients. For one thing, they ask too many questions, and will try to second guess their doctor. They will often try to play doctor, and will not listen to the advice which their physician gives them - or will be picky and choosy about what to listen to and what to ignore. They are not very compliant, and will often expect VIP treatment because they are colleagues.

Doctors are not used to playing the sick role, and because they are so used to giving orders, they find the experience of being a patient who is on the other side of the examination couch difficult to cope with.
