I want to know if for murder only criminal trial goes. Then how can in Medicolegal cases just for the harassment of the doctor, consumer court and criminal trial, both can be filed by the patient and is entertained.

In the case of death of a baby after normal delivery, patient wants both hefty compensation and jail for the doctors. Is this protocol fair?
